Why Give
The lack of funding and the high cost of summer housing have prevented many deserving minority STEM students from participating in this only educational opportunity of its kind. With 43% of the trainees coming from low-income backgrounds and 55% coming from middle-income families, Distance Learning Center needs your contribution to help provide scholarships to these well-deserving students and our future STEM leaders.
This revolutionary training paradigm has produced phenomenal results: graduation data show that more than 90% of the trainees who started in 7th grade have completed the 10-year regimen, while more than 85% of the college seniors have gone on to post-baccalaureate programs at our nation’s top graduate, medical and engineering schools.
‘When we think about some of the top programs or organizations that focus on STEM, we have to think about the Distance Learning Center. This DLC is a rare commodity that stands alone!’ Dr. Shannin Lewis, Alum
